A drug dealer who was found with dozens of packages of crack cocaine and heroin in Harrogate has been jailed.
Alex Horsfield, 26, from Keighley, was sentenced to two years and eight months today (Tuesday 6 June) at York Crown Court after pleading guilty to two offences.
On Thursday 11 May 2023, Horsfield was spotted parked on Roberts Crescent, Harrogate, in his Vauxhall Astra car by North Yorkshire’s Police.
It's believed he was part of a county lines drug gang.
Officers found two separate packages hidden in his clothing, which contained 40 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin.
Horsfield was arrested and later charged with possession with intent to supply.
During his police interview, he claimed the drugs were for his own personal use.
However, when he appeared at York Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to both offense and was sentenced immediately at his own request.
PC Michael Haydock, of Operation Expedite, said: “Alex Horsfield is yet another example of someone who believe they can come across the border to North Yorkshire to commit drug crime.
“This has shown him, and other like him, that this will not be tolerated.
“North Yorkshire Police is committed to tacking drug-related crime, and having a dedicated Operation Expedite County Lines Team allows us to target those who pedal these illegal substances in a proactive and relentless manner."
