Appeal for witnesses following death of elderly cyclist

Police are appealing for witnesses after the death of a cyclist in Harrogate.

At 3.30pm yesterday (Monday 18 August) police were called to a serious condition on Skipton Road, at the junction with Dragon Road.

Despite the best effort of members of the public and emergency crews, the cyclist, a man in his 70s sadly died at the scene.

At this stage, police do not believe that there was any third-party involvement with the man or his bike prior to the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any further information, is urged to come forward.
