The incident happened on Thursday (28th December) when the trio - as part of an off-roading group - attempted to cross a stream on the River Esk in Glaisdale.
A man tried to rescue them as they were being swept away.
He was pulled from the water and taken to hospital for treatment.
Richard Burton - who's a member of the East Riding 4x4 club, posted this tribute online;
"Our club has felt loss before but never on a scale so big as this, these three great men will leave a very big hole in our hearts
"They are the kindest soles and never had a bad word for anyone my love and thoughts for their families will always be there and I’m honoured to call them my friends, you will be missed greatly."
Nikki Daddy, the older sister of Scott has also posted a tribute;
