Police say their appeal yesterday for four key witnesses to come forward, to support their investigation into a serious sexual assault which occurred in Catterick Garrison on Sunday 17 August, has been successful.

Within 24 hours, they have now identified all four witnesses; and enquiries will continue to support the live investigation.

Officers say they understand that the details of this incident will have caused concern in the local community, and they'll continue to increase patrols in the area, to offer reassurance in the coming days. Please speak directly with a uniformed officer if you have any concerns.

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police by calling 101, quoting incident number 12250155119.
