A number of flood warnings remain in place for York and the surrounding areas today, following recent rainfall and snowmelt.

The first covers St George's Field and Queen's Staith in York city centre, where river levels are expected to rise to between 3.7m and 3.9m on Sunday evening. The Environment Agency say the Foss Barrier is in operation and flood gates are closed.

Meanwhile, there's also a warning further downstream at Naburn Lock, where flooding of properties, gardens, roads and footpaths is possible.

A flood warning remains in place for the River Derwent in Stamford Bridge, at The Weir Caravan Park and Kexby Bridge, where river levels remain high due to recent rainfall.

And slightly further upstream, there's also a flood warning for Buttercrambe Mill, where river levels could reach 1.85m.
