North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were called at around 10:45am today to reports of a fire at a workshop in Leeming.

Fire crews from Bedale, Northallerton, Ripon, Richmond, Thirsk and Harrogate attended the scene on Roman Road. The workshop contains propane cylinders.

On arrival crews found the workshop building well alight and deployed three main jets and two horse reel jets to tackle the fire and prevent it spreading.

At around 11:30am, North Yorkshire Fire said crews were likely to be at the scene for some time tackling the fire.

An aerial ladder platform was also in attendance, but the scene is now being scaled down with some fire engines leaving shortly.
