Driver cut free from car after collision

A collision on the A168 / A1 roundabout at Boroughbridge led to a driver having to be cut free from the wreckage.

Crews were called just before midday yesterday.

Ripon and Boroughbridge firefighters went to the scene.

North Yorkshire fire and rescue report stated:

"Boroughbridge and Ripon crews attended a single vehicle road traffic collision. Crews worked with cutting equipment to remove the door of the vehicle, allowing the driver trapped inside to self rescue and walk from the vehicle.

"Both driver and passenger taken to hospital via road ambulance for checks. Fire and rescue crews also carried out scene safety. Incident left with Police"
