A York school has temporarily closed it's sixth form after a student tested positive for coronavirus.

The headteacher of Fulford School has written to the parents of all pupils in Year 12 and Year 13, saying their child must now stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days in line with national guidance, as they have been in the same 'bubble' as the affected student.

The student who is confirmed to have Covid-19 was last in school on Friday 11th September.

Next week, lessons for sixth form students will be delivered online, with the school re-opening to sixth formers on Monday 28th September.

Headteacher Steve Lewis has written a separate letter to parents of students in Years 7 to 11, advising them that their child should continue to attend school as normal if they feel well.
