Bronze statue stolen from York art gallery

Police in York have released CCTV of two men they want to speak to after a suspected theft at a York art gallery.

It happened on Low Petergate at 12.25pm on Friday.

A bronze statue worth more than £2,000 was taken from the gallery.

The statue, titled ‘Highland Falls’, and measuring 17in by 15in by 6.5in, is a limited edition piece features two stags fighting.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
