Man's body found in York

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances

The body of a man has been found near a bridge in York.

North Yorkshire Police say they were called around 10pm last night (Wednesday 23 June), to a report of concern for a man's safety.

Officers attended an area near to Moor Lane Bridge.

The body of a man in his 70s was located in the area in the early hours of this morning (24 June).

The man's family has been informed, Police say, and a report will be prepared for the coroner for an inquest at a later date.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, officers added.
