The phlebotomy service in York, which takes blood for tests requested by GPs and hospital doctors, is moving.

From Monday, it will be based at Peppermill Court on Ramsey Close off Huntington Road.

It's normally provided at York Hospital, but had been based at the Nuffield Hospital over the last few months since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

Hospital bosses say the service at Peppermill Court will continue to process urgent blood taking requests only.

However, a booking system for routine blood taking is due to be launched in the coming weeks.

York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust have thanked the staff at the Nuffield Hospital in York for 'their support in keeping patients safe in these challenging times'.
