Arson investigation underway near Catterick

Police are investigating a suspected arson at a North Yorkshire home.

An object on fire was thrown at a house on Fifth Avenue in Colburn near Catterick early on Monday morning.

No one was injured but officers have started an investigation into what happened.

They want to identify the person shown in the CCTV image above.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson issued this statement:

"Officers are appealing for anyone who may have information about the incident or saw anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident.

"We’re also asking for anyone who could identify a person pictured on CCTV, dressed in grey clothing with a hood up who was spotted in the area at the time.
