Arrest after man stabbed in Selby

A man's been arrested after another man was stabbed outside a takeaway in Selby on Friday 25 June.

It happened after a fight broke out in an alleyway next to the Golden Skewer at around 9.30pm.

The 37-year-old was take to hospital in Leeds where he was treated for chest wounds and later discharged.

Another man has now been arrested and bailed by police.

Detective Sergeant Emma Newton of York and Selby Criminal Investigation Department said: “We recognise that an incident of this nature is concerning and unsettling for local residents."

"However, I’d like to reassure people living in the area that a thorough investigation is underway and that there is no threat to the wider public."
