Appeal for witnesses after a violent assault in York
A man in his late 70s was walking his dog when he was attacked
Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man in his late 70s was violently assaulted when walking his dog in York.
The assault took place on Osbaldwick Lane at around 4.15pm on Monday, 29 January as the victim walked his dog.
A man assaulted the victim as he passed a bus stop along the route.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service attended the scene, and the man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
Although several witnesses have already come forward, it is believed there were more people in the vicinity who saw the assault or the events surrounding it and officers are urging these people to come forward.

A man in his 30s has been charged with Section 18 Wounding and was remanded to appear in court today (Wednesday, 31 January).
