Businesses in York are being asked to come forward if they think they can offer a job to a Ukrainian refugee.

More than 250 people who've escaped the war have now come to stay in the City.

Rebecca Russell is from the City of Sanctuary Charity and says they want to help as many as possible into employment. "I think what we're really looking for now is the next stage of independence for Ukrainian families here who really want to get up and running and start living their lives."

As well as help finding a job Rebecca says they are really worried about the housing situation. Some sponsors say they won't be able to host refugees for longer than the initial six month period. Rebecca says they are also appealing to landlords who might be able to provide accommodation "Housing is really the main concern for us at the moment, because York is so expensive to rent, there is very little housing as we know that is affordable and we really need landlords to come forward and say look we're prepared to help."
