UPDATE: Man dies in collision on A19

An 18 year-old motorcyclist has died after a crash on the A19.

It happened at 6.20 this morning between York and Thirsk - the motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a car.

The driver of the car and passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries - police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

The road was closed for several hours - but has now re-opened.
