A1 closed due to serious collision
It's affecting the Southbound carriageway near to Leeming Bar
There's been a serious crash on the A1, near Leeming Bar.
Police have confirmed it involves two vehicles and it happened around 2.30am.
It also means the southbound carriages - between Junction 51 and 50 - are currently closed.
The road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
In a statement, North Yorkshire Police have said:
'Anyone who witnessed the collision or who was driving along that stretch of road at around the time of the collision is asked to contact police. Dial 101, press 1 and pass information to the Force Control Room, quoting reference number NYP-18102021-0020.'
