16-year-old charged after teenager stabbed in York park

Police were called to Rowntree Park on Saturday night

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with wounding, assault and possessing a knife after another teenager was stabbed in York on Saturday night.

Police were called to Rowntree Park at around 7pm, where the teenager had suffered a stab wound to their armpit.

They were taken to hospital for treatment.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with the offences, and has been remanded into custody.
