North Yorkshire Council says school vaccine programme roll out complete

The vaccines in schools programme was completed at the end of November.

All pupils who are eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine have been offered the chance to have one in North Yorkshire schools.

This happened before the end of last month.

Corporate Director of Children and Young People Service's at North Yorkshire County Council Stuart Carlton says they are now looking at how many have taken it.

He said:

"We are looking at the take up and we are expecting it to not be different from the national take up, we expect it to be similar to the national take up."

It was also revealed the overall attendance is around the national averages – about 90% at any one time; slightly higher in primary schools and currently there are no schools are closed.
