Former soap star Leandra Ashton and her mum Ylenia Angeli have taken their 97-year-old loved one home after weeks of trying to get her out of a residential house in East Yorkshire. One day even ended in Ylenia being handcuffed in the back of a police car.

Leandra has thanked people for their support and shared photos of them all together. She also wrote a poem based on the journey they have gone through:

Leandra said:

“My Nan is home. She’s having moments of clarity and smiling again. You can see the difference from one day to the next in the photos.

“We will be continuing to fight for others still locked away. We're asking for a meeting with Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock to discuss the national emergency in care homes. The new government guidelines have not changed visiting for the vast majority of families.”
