The Great Northern Food and Drink Festival had taste buds tingling over the August Bank Holiday with up to 200 stalls including independent artisan food and drinks producers and craft stalls showcasing the best of the region’s independent makers. There was something for the whole family!

The Great Northern Food & Drink Festival was held at the breath-taking Scampston Hall near Malton in North Yorkshire. The address you'll need if you ever want to visit is: Scampston Hall & Walled Gardens, Malton, YO17 8NG.
What was on at the festival?
There was plenty of entertainment for all ages with live music, a classic car show, baking competitions and fairground rides alongside demonstrations from a number of key vendors.

Jimmy Mack’s Street Kitchen
In addition to their Loaded Lamb Birria Fries pictured here, Jimmy Mack's Street Kitchen also served low and slow smoked meats such as 12hr hickory smoked beef brisket with an amazing range of sides from pineapple salsa to deep fried crispy onion.
Taste of Yorkshire
Taste of Yorkshire are a fantastic local bakery. They specialise in biscuits, both savoury and sweet, creating delicious treats from chocolate or ginger shortbread bites to blue cheese or chilli jam nibbles!
Tintwistle Smokehouse & Grill
Tintwistle Smokehouse & Grill offer a variety of meats or seafood if requested – smoked, slow cooked or grilled on the BBQ as well as side dishes and small starters. Try their grilled halloumi, char grilled and smothered in garlic butter after marinating for 24 hours, or maybe their Peri Peri Chicken wings with roasted sesame seeds & spring onions on a bed of shredded lettuce finished with sweet chilli sauce for a spicy kick!
God's Own Rum
Distilling and trading as Gods Own Yorkshire Rum since late 2018, this micro distillery is run by Joe and Campbell, producing single pot, still, premium rum spirits. All their spirits are hand crafted, and right here in Yorkshire too! A recent addition to their line up is their new Yorkshire Gold, a smooth and pure rum experience.
SnowyCones
SnowyCones are delicious in-hand refreshments made from ice cubes that are shaved into the consistency of snow using our SnowyCones maker. This unique product is then drenched with high quality flavoured syrups to produce a refreshingly cool snack. Eye catching refreshments are made easily with no expertise and are served in a flower cup, cone or tub and are eaten with a straw spoon.
Northeast Hog Roast
Northeast Hog Roast Hire only use the finest quality, locally reared pigs. They pride themselves on their Hog Roasts. In fact, the preparation begins hours before the cooking process even starts, thus ensuring Northeast deliver a hog roast to remember. Rolls and cobs are picked up that morning from a local bakery who have been around in The North east for over 50 years.
Yorkshire Puds
All of Yorkshire Puds products are based around the classic Northern dessert we all adore – sticky toffee pudding. But it's not just the puddings, they also do a huge range of products such as Sticky Toffee Sauce, Sticky Toffee Gin, Sticky Toffee Caramels and Sticky Toffee Gin Truffles – yes please!
The Otley Burger Company
The Otley Burger Company serve fresh beef burgers from locally sourced meat, along with chips, halloumi fries and cold drinks. They're not any old burgers either, the menu has a range of amazing creations including the "Miss Daisy" burger!

It was a glorious day for all to enjoy and support local businesses.
Wold Top were top of the class with their tasty offerings and unique stand!
Fun for all the family with plenty of rides to keep the children entertained.
God's Own ensured that everyone had a taste of their lovely Yorkshire rum!
There were many wonderful creations and trinkets to be found on the craft stalls.
Of course we were there to make sure your feet were tapping to some great music from the 70s, 80s and 90s!
