Two men arrested following St Helens burglary
Incident happened in the early hours of this morning
Two men were arrested following a reported house burglary in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 9 October) in St Helens.
At around 12.45am it was reported a woman was in the kitchen of a property on Hatfield Close when three men walked in via an unlocked back door armed with wood and baseball bats and demanded to know where the safe was.
The woman manged to run out of the house via the front door and was not injured from the incident.
The three men then left the house through the back door and made off down the alleyway.
Officers attended with dog patrols, and Police Dog Taro tracked two of the suspects hiding in a garden.
A 20-year-old man from Knotty Ash and a 22-year-old man from St Helens were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary. They are still in police custody to be questioned.
