Northern Rail insists people can rely on their trains in the run up to Christmas

People attending Christmas parties in Manchester are being encouraged to share quick-reference guides to ‘last trains home’ with their fellow partygoers.
Produced by Northern, the handy graphics highlight its last services from its hubs at Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria stations, which are also useful for those heading into the city centre for some last minute Christmas shopping.
Craig Harrop, regional director for Northern, said: “This is definitely one for the Christmas party WhatsApp group.
“It’s very easy to lose track of time and our hope is that with these quick-reference guides people can always have the essential ‘last train home’ information easily to hand.
"We're on Whatsapp too - so people can check live departure information with us there."
