Murder investigation launched after missing woman found in Warrington house

A 51-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder

A murder investigation's been launched in Warrington after the body of a missing woman's been found in a house.

Police say they were called to Folly Lane just after 10pm last night and this morning have discovered a body.

In a statement police say:

"Police searching for a missing woman from Warrington have sadly located a body.

"Officers were called to reports of a missing woman at around 10.10pm on Tuesday 16 January.

"At 9.33am today, Wednesday 17 January, officers discovered a body at an address on Folly Lane that is believed to be that of the missing woman.

"A scene is currently in place on Folly Lane and an investigation is now underway to establish the circumstances.

"A 51-year-old man from Warrington has been arrested and is currently assisting officers with their enquiries."
