Manchester’s Christmas Parade is back
Festive fun is set to take over the city's streets today
Manchester’s much-loved Christmas Parade is set to bring festive cheer to the city once again today (7 December). The event starts at 1pm and promises music, entertainment, and seasonal magic.
The parade will follow a route beginning and ending at Manchester Cathedral, winding through key city streets including Victoria Street, Deansgate, Market Street, and St Mary’s Gate.
Highlights of the parade include the return of the Elf Express, complete with Santa making an appearance alongside his team of elves.
The event, backed by Manchester City Council and arts organisations including Global Grooves, Walk the Plank, Handmade Parade, and Fools' Paradise, will feature interactive pop-up festive fun throughout the city.
Important information for attendees:
Road closures will be in place on various streets including Victoria Street, Deansgate, and Cross Street from 8am to 6pm.
Metrolink services will be suspended between St Peter’s Square and Exchange Square from 12pm to 2.30pm.
Visitors are encouraged to check for transport and parking updates ahead of time.
