Man appearing in court after dog attack in Wigan
The victim is said to have sustained serious injuries

A man is appearing in court after a woman was attacked by a dog in Wigan.
Liam Rainy, of Battersby Street in Wigan has been charged with section 18 assault and being in possession of a dangerously out of control dog.
It's after an incident which took place on Windermere Road, Orrell, on Sunday 11th June when a woman sustained serious injuries.
The dog has since been safely detained and is being cared for by animal welfare professionals.
Rainy was remanded in custody after being charged, and is appearing before Manchester Magistrates Court today.
