Macclesfield man walking to Ibiza for charity raises more than £100,000
Henry Moores is expected to reach the party island today, 60 days after leaving Manchester and making his way through England, France and Spain
A Macclesfield man who is walking more than 1,400 miles from England to Ibiza for charity has raised more than £100,000.
Henry Moores has already made his way through England, France and parts of Spain after setting off from Manchester in April. He is expected to arrive to the island today (16th of June), 60 days after he set off!
The 22-year-old has been regularly posting to social media. On one post he said: "The journey from Manchester to Ibiza has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, but every step brings me closer to the finish line.
"Despite the tough challenges, the experience has been nothing short of incredible. The eerie, quiet stretches and the battles with rain and exhaustion have tested me, but the support from all 220,000 of you on Instagram has been phenomenal and kept me going strong.
"You're encouragement and generosity have been my driving force."
On another post he said: "Thank you to everyone for their support and donations so far, it truly means the world to me."
Henry has already smashed his fundraising goal of £50,000 for the Tony Hudgell Foundation.
The charity is named after nine-year-old Tony Hudgell, who had both legs amputated after he was abused by his parents as a baby.
The foundation was set up by Tony's adoptive mother, Paula Hudgell OBE, to help children affected by physical, emotional or psychological abuse.
On a post online, the foundation said: "We are honoured to announce that Henry’s chosen charity for this amazing challenge is the Tony Hudgell Foundation."
