Are The Yorkshire Dales Abroad?

They might be one of the most scenic areas in Britain - but a quarter of people didn't actually know where the Yorkshire Dales are. In fact - 14% thought they were abroad and only 25% could correctly locate them. The stats have been released by <a class="article-body-link" href="http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/ "Ordnance Survey"">Ordnance Survey as part of a campaign to get people visiting their local beauty spots. Other locations that were difficult for people included: HYDE PARK: 54% knew where it was - 18% thought it was abroad LAKE DISTRICT: 21% knew where it was - 5% thought it was abroad GIANT'S CAUSEWAY: 28% knew where it was - 8% thought it was abroad BEN NEVIS: 38% knew where it was - 15% thought it was abroad WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER: 50% knew where it was - 5% thought it was abroad BIRMINGHAM CANALS: 32% knew where it was - 13% thought it was abroad
