Six men from Kirklees have been banned from football matches, with five of them being jailed, after disorder following a Huddersfield Town vs Millwall match in 2022.
It comes after fighting between opposing groups of fans on John William Street and St George’s Square in Huddersfield on October 29 2022, after a match at the John Smith's.
Officers made several arrests amid a clash involving around 100 people.
Among those sentenced at Leeds Crown Court were:

Chief Inspector Peter Hall of West Yorkshire Police, said: “There is absolutely no place for football related disorder in our grounds or on our streets, and we welcome the sentencing of these men.
“The scenes we witnessed in Huddersfield town centre on 29 October 2022 were disgraceful and, as a result of their involvement, these men have now all received lengthy bans from attending any UK football match.
“Five of them are now also behind bars for the criminal behaviour they engaged in on that day.
“West Yorkshire Police will always treat incidents like this very seriously. We work closely with our own and visiting clubs to fully investigate any offences committed and we will also take robust action against those responsible, including seeking Football Banning Orders against them.”
