Woman Injured In Attempted Car Hi-Jacking in Beeston
A 27 year old woman has been seriously injured after two men tried to rob her of her car. She had her armed slashed and was left with a two inch wound on her arm.
The victim, a 27-year-old woman, had just got into her VW Polo in Hunslet Hall Road, Beeston, at about 5.25pm on Tuesday (10/11) and was closing the door when two men approached the car. One of the men tried to grab the keys from the ignition and demanded she hand them over.
She fended him off and the two men ran off in the direction of Dewsbury Road.
The victim then noticed she was bleeding. A passer-by called an ambulance and police were alerted. The victim was treated at hospital and received stitches.
The man who attacked her was described as dark skinned, either Asian or black, aged 25 to 30, about 5ft 8ins tall, with big shoulders. He was wearing a black zip-up jacket, with the collar covering his face up to his nose, and a white beanie hat pulled down to his eyes. He has a deep voice and a local accent.
The other man was described as being of similar ethnicity and height and of skinny build. He was wearing a dark hooded top with white drawstrings and a zip up front, with the hood obscuring his face.
Detective Constable Jonathan Oates, of Leeds District Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: "This was clearly a very frightening incident and the victim has been left badly shaken. We are carrying out extensive enquiries and would like to hear from anyone who saw these men in the area or who has any information that could assist the investigation."
