Dozens of flood warnings are in place across West Yorkshire after Storm Franklin brought heavy rain over the weekend.

There's also a yellow weather warning in force for wind until midday, with drivers being urged to take extra care on the roads.

Train companies have also warned of possible delays across the network, and are asking customers to check before travelling.

Passengers urged to avoid trains

Northern said "multiple line closures" were in place on Monday morning, because of flooding and loss of power across Yorkshire.

Passengers have been urged not to travel on trains, with cancellations between Leeds, Bradford and Skipton after a tunnel flooded overnight.

LNER was also running replacement bus routes, and Network Rail said customers should be prepared "not to travel".

Bridges damaged in Leeds

A number of bridges were closed in Leeds on Sunday after a pontoon broke free from its moorings.

Police were asking people to avoid the River Aire, while TransPennine Express were warning of delays between Leeds and Huddersfield after a boat hit a bridge.

The closure was also affecting a number of buses, with diversions in place across the network.

MP asks drivers to avoid floodwater

The MP for Halifax has asked drivers to avoid floodwater, after Mixenden was hit by flooding.

Holly Lynch said drivers had been going at such speed it "created waves" and knocked down walls, allowing floodwater to get into homes.

Councils have also asked people to have a plan in place where flood warnings are in place, including in Bradford and Calderdale.
