Wakefield paedophile jailed for nine years over sexual activity with a child

A Wakefield paedophile has been jailed for nine years, after being convicted of the sexual abuse of a child.
36 year old Robert Cross, of Queens Drive in Wrenthorpe, was found guilty of seven child sex offences during a trial at Leeds Crown Court, where he faced sentencing today.
The victim was abused by Cross between 2008 and 2011, but only came forward to report what had happened in 2021.
Investigations by police uncovered a Facebook message Cross had sent in 2016 where he admitted to what he had done.
Alongside the jail term Cross will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life. He was also handed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
