UPDATE: Man arrested in connection with alleged Huddersfield stabbing

It comes as two men were injured in the town centre on Wednesday (14 September)

Police investigating a suspected stabbing incident in Huddersfield have arrested a man.

Detectives in Kirklees are continuing to investigate the serious assault on two males which took place near the junction of Byram Street and Kirkgate at around 5:45pm on Wednesday evening (14 September).

Both victims received non- life threatening stab injuries and were treated in hospital.

Detective Inspector James Bellhouse of Kirklees CID, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this serious incident and have arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of assault this evening.

“We are still very much appealing for witnesses and anyone who has information which can assist enquiries is asked to call us on 101 or uses the online 101 chat service online quoting crime reference 1357 14/09."
