Today Universal Credit will drop by £20 a week, after being increased at the start of the pandemic.

We're hearing how people are having to chose between heating their homes or buying food.

Matthew Jeffery is from Lower Wortley in Leeds and is being impacted by the change, he said:

"I'm trying to get a job, but any job interviews, you've got travel and to afford the bus, would mean going without food for a few days.

"I should be able to have electric, I should be able to have gas heating, I just have to put a jumper on and survive without it.

"I have suffered from depression before, I was just about learning to deal with it and this cuts come along, it's been hard. Even an extra £2 a week to go out and socialise, would be a great help.

"I don't go out anymore, I hardly go to friends, I'm basically in the house every day."
