Forklift drivers at a Knottingley glass bottle factory are set to walk out on strike, in a dispute over union recognition.

Drivers employed by by Lockwood Haulage at the Ardagh Glass bottle factory are calling on the company to recognise a collective bargaining agreement with Unite.

Workers will strike from Friday (July 18) until Monday (July 21), with further action planned if there is no solution.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Lockwood Haulage is union-busting plain and simple and Unite will not tolerate it."

"The forklift drivers at Ardagh Glass will receive Unite’s total backing for as long as it takes.”

We've approached Lockwood Haulage for a statement on this story.
