Two people arrested after suspicious packages found in Dewsbury

Two people have been arrested after a suspicious packages were found at a property in Dewsbury.

Officers were called to Foxroyd Lane just after 1pm yesterday - an army bomb disposal team attended to examine and remove the packages.

Police are still at the scene - but say there's no risk to the public.

Sergeant Fiona Baxter of Kirklees Police said: “The police cordon has now been removed and people have been allowed to return to their properties.

“There is no risk to the neighbouring properties or the wider community. We still have officers in the area and anyone with information that may assist with enquiries is asked to contact 101 quoting log 776 of 10/11.”
