Two men charged after police officer injured in Leeds

A car failed to stop for police on Friday (May 31)

Two men have been charged after a police officer was injured during a chase in Leeds last Friday (May 31).

West Yorkshire Police said the car failed to stop for road traffic officers before the pursuit began.

An officer was left with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Paul Harper (44) of Rockwood Mount, Leeds, was due to appear charged with dangerous driving, causing actual bodily harm, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and theft.

Paul Cameron (44) of Copperfield View, Leeds, was due to appear charged with theft, assaulting an emergency worker and receiving stolen goods.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
