Two people charged after "suspicious object" found near Halifax

Two people have been charged by police after a "suspicious object" was found in a village in near Halifax.

Police were called to Illingworth on Saturday (30 December), where a number of roads were closed and some homes were evacuated.

An object was later destroyed.

A man and a woman, aged 46 and 37, were arrested and have both been charged with offences under the Explosive Substances Act.

They have been remanded into custody following a court appearance.
