Two arrests after man dies and children hurt in Wakefield crash

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash in Wakefield

Two men have been arrested after a crash in Wakefield that left one man dead, and a woman and two children in hospital.

The collision happened at 9:15pm on the A650 Bradford Road, prior to Snow Hill.

A blue BMW and a Volvo were travelling towards Snow Hill when they hit a Citreon C4 head on.

The 38-year-old driver of the Citreon was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 37-year-old woman and two girls under the age of 10 were seriously injured.

They all remain in hospital.

Police say a 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and remains in hospital.

They later arrested a 27-year-old man, believed to be the driver of the volvo, and he remains in police custody.
