Two arrested after significant number of cannabis plants found in South Elmsall

Officers have arrested two men after carrying out five warrants at addresses in South Elmsall.

A significant number of cannabis plants waiting to be cropped were seized.

Four properties on Harrow Street and one on Cambridge Street were subject to warrant executions under the Misuse of Drugs act yesterday.

Three addresses had live cannabis farms in them, more than 50 plants were seized. The other two addresses had the remnants of cannabis farms in them.

Detective Sergeant Karl Heath from the Neighbourhood Impact Team in Wakefield District said:

‘We have seized a substantial amount of Class B Drugs from the streets of South Elmsall.

‘We are committed to tackling crime and anti-social behaviour that the supply of drugs creates in our communities, we will continue to target those who we suspect of being involved in such criminal activity.

‘We would always encourage member of the public to contact us if they have information about possible drugs production in our communities. We will always investigate the information received and take appropriate action.
