TV chef to put on cooking classes for the homeless in Leeds
Matt Healy, the 2016 runner-up on MasterChef: The Professionals, will deliver the lessons at the Homeless Street Angels new permanent base in Leeds
TV chef, Matt Healy, who owns Forde in Horsforth is going to be providing cooking lessons to homeless people in Leeds.
He'll be providing the sessions at Homeless Street Angels new base in Leeds, Abi House, run by sisters Shelley and Becky Joyce. The new base, named after their sister who died, will become a base for their food bank, where they'll cook the meals for outreaches and store furniture.
It's hoped Matt providing the cooking sessions will help people learn vital life skills.
He said: "I think it can be quite daunting really, if you don't know, how to cook but what I think I'm going to try demonstrate is, that is can be really simple.
"Five ingredients arranged nicely in a pan with a little bit of salt, and it can go in the oven and it's easy, it doesn't have to be difficult. We'll start there and we'll build."
