Two men arrested and another charged after gun found in crashed car in Leeds

The firearm was found in a 4x4 when the vehicle crashed near to homes in Armley on Monday.

Two men have been arrested after a gun was recovered from a crashed car in a residential area of Leeds.

The firearm was recovered from a 4x4 that had crashed between Church Road and Chapel Lane, just been 15:30 on Monday (August 22).

A 35-year-old man who attended a police station on Tuesday nigh twas arrested, and a 28-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of this morning.

It's after police carried out raids on two addresses in Beeston and Wortley, and both remain in custody.

Another 29-year-old man who was arrested on Monday has been charged with firearms offences and was remanded in court at Leeds Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.

A scene remains in place around Church Road and Chapel Lane to undergo specialist searches and enquiries are ongoing.
