Three armed men raid shop in Leeds City Centre

An investigation has been launched after an armed robbery at a watch shop in Leeds City Centre this morning.

Three men targeted the Watchfinder & Co shop in County Arcade. They were armed with hammers, an axe and a fire extinguisher.

A Police spokesperson has said:

"At 10.05am today, police received a report of an armed robbery at the Watchfinder & Co shop in County Arcade in Leeds city centre.

"Three males, wearing balaclavas and armed with weapons including hammers, an axe and a fire extinguisher, entered the shop and smashed display cabinets before taking items. Staff in the shop were able to retreat to safety and no-one was injured.

"The men left the scene in a car driven by fourth male.

"Officers are currently at the scene and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Leeds District CID via 101 quoting log number 522 of July 17 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
