The MP for Halifax is calling for action on press bullying

The MP for Halifax says she's standing in solidarity with Meghan Markle and is calling for action on press bullying.

Back in 2019, Holly Lynch wrote an open letter, alongside other female MP's, she said it was calling on the British Press to have the integrity to recognise when a story is in the public interest or 'just tearing a woman down.'

Now, female MP's are coming together again to think about what else needs doing in the future, to help this issue.

She said:

"What's really sad is it didn't make a difference to the press in the way that we hoped it had.

"Women MP's are coming together to say, what are the next steps we might need to consider to make sure no women in Meghan Markle's position are ever again contemplating suicide because of this type of constant and relentless scrutiny and attack and criticism."
