Investigation launched after teenage girls attacked in Bradford

An investigation is underway after two teenage girls were attacked in Bradford.

A 15 year old had to go to hospital with a head injury but has been discharged from hospital since.

Police say the girls has been on a bus from Halifax on Tuesday night when they were approached by an unknown man who assaulted them.

They are appealing for any witnesses.

A spokesperson from west Yorkshire Police said:

"Police are appealing for witnesses after two 15 year old girls were assaulted on Netherlands Avenue, Bradford on Tuesday 8 August.

"Both girls had been on the number 682 bus from Halifax when they got off at Halifax Road at the junction of Netherlands Avenue sometime between 10pm and 10.30pm.

"Both have been assaulted by an unknown male.

"One of the 15 year olds was taken to hospital with a head injury. She has since been discharged from hospital.

"The suspect is described as a male, aged 40-50 years old and large build.

"CCTV enquiries are being carried out and a scene is in place whilst forensic examination takes place.

"Bradford CID are continuing enquiries."
