Tributes have been paid to an 18 year old who was killed in a crash in Castleford over the weekend.

Taylor Lupton, who lived in the Wakefield area, is being remembered by family as "a lovely father and a beloved son".

Police were called to Wheldon Road at around 6:19am on Sunday morning (January 12th).

When responders arrived at the scene, they found that a car had come off the road and crashed into a water treatment facility, partially submerging the car in water.

Emergency services were called to the scene to retrieve the driver and the two passengers that been travelling with them.

Two people - a man and a woman, both 21, were taken out of the vehicle and taken to hospital for treatment.

Taylor was found a short distance away from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other occupants of the car have been released under investigation after being arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Anyone who saw the crash is being urged to contact West Yorkshire Police on 101.
