As temperatures soar across West Yorkshire, we've been speaking to a Bradford sleep expert, who's shared his top tips for a good nights sleep with us!

Today we could reach a high of 29 degrees, meaning we need to prepare for another difficult night's sleep.

Our sleep experts top tips:

  • Open the windows
  • Close your curtains
  • Drink plenty of water

Dr David Dawson is a sleep expert in Bradford, he said:

"I know it sounds dreadful closing the curtains when it's a lovely sunny day, but in order to try and keep the heat in the house down, thinking ahead and doing that is one of the first steps.

"Having a draft in the bedroom, either with the windows open or with a fan, that's creating a draft over the skin and there's a cooling effect.

"I think the main thing is keep hydrated, that's so important. We are all losing a lot of body fluid simply by moisture being taken out of us, so keep drinking."
