Storm Gerrit hits West Yorkshire
A yellow warning for rain is in place until 6pm tonight

West Yorkshire is being hit by Storm Gerrit as it brings heavy rain and strong winds.
A yellow weather warning for rain is in place across the region until 6pm, with several flood alerts issued by the Environment Agency.
It comes 8 years on from the Boxing Day floods of 2015 which devastated large parts of West Yorkshire.

Trains affected
Northern says flooding in the Horsforth area means trains between Leeds and York via Harrogate are being disrupted.
It says trains from Leeds to York via Garforth are not affected by the issue.
Services between Morecambe and Leeds are also disrupted due to heavy rainfall flooding the railway. Northern says engineers from Network Rail are on site but with the rain not forecast to improve in the coming hours, trains are not able to run in either direction between Lancaster - Skipton.
Warning to drivers
West Yorkshire Fire Service shared a picture of a car stuck in flood water at Brighouse this morning with crews from Rastrick Fire Station having to rescue the driver.
They're reminding people not to drive into flood water that’s moving or more than 10cm (4 inches) deep.
Calderdale Council has posted to say there is large amounts of surface water in places and is urging drivers to take care.
Flood alerts
The Environment Agency has issued several flood alerts for our county, including at the Upper River Wharfe, the Wyke Beck and Meanwood Beck catchments and the Lower River Calder catchment.
