Plans to install a solar array on the roof of Bradford City’s Valley Parade stadium have been given the green light.

Renewable energy company SNRG Ltd applied for permission to fit panels on two sections of the stadium’s roof earlier this year.

The application said the panels would have a 200 kWp capacity, and the energy generated would help power the stadium.

Bradford Council has approved the scheme, with planning officers saying: “The panels will not directly face any neighbouring residential properties which are located at a lower level.

“The impact on the external appearance of the building and the amenity of the area is considered limited, and any significant issues with glare are considered unlikely.”
