The Met Office is warning there could be some disruption to travel tonight and Friday morning

A Yellow weather warning is in place from 8pm tonight (6th January) across West Yorkshire for snow and ice.
Dewsbury, Huddersfield and Bradford will be affected, and some parts of Wakefield and Leeds.
The Met Office says there could be some disruption on the roads because of frequent sleet, hail and snow showers.
What to expect
- Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
- Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
- Some brief power outages are possible with a risk of isolated lightning strikes.
- Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
- Craig Snell, a Met Office Weather Forecaster said:
- "Main message is to allow some extra time for your journey, make sure your car is prepared, make sure you've got some warm weather gear in your car just in case you get stuck, in a traffic jam for example, make sure your car is full up with petrol.
- "If you've got vulnerable or elderly people nearby, save them having to go outside in the cold, why not give them a ring and see whether they're ok, just be sensible really is the main message.
- "One of the best things to do is to talk to each other, if you've got vulnerable neighbours, just maybe ask them if you can go and do their shopping for them, to save them going out."
